Love Is In The Air

Well sort of. I've been creating a few Valentine themed pocket letters and receiving some too. I don't mind the color red but I have to say I'm feeling done with Valentine related things now. I'm excited to move onto St. Patricks Day and the such. I am involved in a swap that allows me to pick the theme and then we have to do a specific technique with it. It has been fun though a bit challenging. However for this month I was able to pick vintage which we all know seems to be an obsession of mine. We had to make little notebooks and it was fun trying a couple of new ways of doing those.
My sister just had a birthday this past month and it was a milestone birthday. Since last year I had been collecting a plethora of scrapbook related goodies that I then arranged in a "craft cake" or a three tiered basket. I was so happy to get to see her open it (online of course) and see how much she loved it! Happy birthday Melanie!
I'm still swapping with my new long distance friend Shauna and January was our first month swapping art journal pages instead. I was so excited about this I can hardly speak! She sent me a beautiful Winter themed one and so many great goodies. I'm loving this new friendship and that our letters get longer every time! I put a picture in of the one I made for this month too since she should have received it today. In other crafting I have started to prepare for my scrap retreat in April by crating a few new inspiration pages with my new favorite gentleman. Since football season is over I will have to wait until the fall to see him again :-( Hopefully these pages will hold me over :-) Now to get to the packing...
As far as Truman and I are concerned we have had a few fun outings in the past month. We went to The Savor Food and Wine Festival at the Botanical gardens here. The weather was amazing and the food and wine were even better. We even got to walk through the butterfly exhibit where a beautiful blue butterfly hiked a ride on Trumans back. Not to worry, the people who worked there made sure to keep him inside the habitat. On Valentines Day we went to a home basketball game after meeting up with some friends for pizza at a great place near the university. Truman loves basketball so it was his kind of day. Even better because we won. Well hope you enjoy the rest of your February. See you soon.
